Finding your insert
How do I know which insert fits my tire?
Use the Squid’nsert Finder. Pick the wheel your tires are mounted on, then your tire, and it shows the exact insert to order by its ID number.
What is an insert ID?
Every Squid’nsert size has a three-digit ID, for example #155. It is shown on your order confirmation. If you already know your ID, the Insert Lookup shows every tire it fits and lets you reorder in one click.
Which wheel option should I pick in the finder?
Look at your lock ring. A flat ring is a Standard 1.9. A V-shaped ring is a Negative G or Proline. A ring with a groove down the center is a Spec RC Comp Cut. For 2.2 wheels, a 1.2″ wide wheel with a 29mm ring is Standard 2.2, and a 0.8″ wide wheel with a 19mm ring is Narrow 2.2.
Can I run a 1.9 tire on a 2.2 wheel?
That is a stretched fit and needs a custom insert that is not a stock size. Choose your 2.2 wheel in the finder and search for the tire; it will send you to the custom order form.

About the inserts
What benefits do 3D printed inserts offer over standard foams?
- Waterproof and weather-resistant: standard foam absorbs water, retains moisture, and rots or rusts wheel hardware. TPU inserts are completely waterproof and unaffected by mud or puddles.
- No sidewall collapse: 3D-printed designs provide rigid structural support that stops the tire from folding over or rolling under heavy side-hilling loads.
- Longer lifespan: foam breaks down, loses elasticity, and permanently deforms over time under the weight of a rig. 3D-printed plastic keeps its original shape through seasons of heavy use.
How many inserts come in a set?
Four inserts come in a set. If you need a different amount, send us a custom order request.
What does "Made to order" mean?
Some sizes are not kept on the shelf. They are printed when you order and ship in 2 to 3 days. You order them exactly like a stocked size.
Why do my inserts feel loose in the tire?
Inserts fit differently than foams and need a small air gap between the insert and tire so the insert can flex properly without being constricted. If the tire constricts the insert, it will wrinkle and develop flat spots.
Why does my tire have some side-to-side play?
Any flat lock ring allows some side-to-side play with inserts and foams alike. The only thing preventing side-to-side movement is the tire’s sidewall elasticity and design.
Excessive play is usually a mismatch between the width of your insert and the width of your wheel’s lock ring (clamp ring or inner barrel). To fix it, place some E6000 or Shoe Goo between the lock ring and insert and let it dry before use. These glues will not harm the insert material. In extreme cases we recommend a custom order matched to your ring width.
I have a heavier or lighter than average crawler. Can I tune the firmness of these inserts?
We do not recommend altering the inserts. Custom inserts in a different firmness can be made for heavier or lighter crawlers through the custom order form.
Should I vent my tires?
Yes! We heavily recommend venting your tires. It keeps pressure uniform in each tire regardless of temperature and elevation, and lets water drain without disassembling the wheel.
Can I store my crawler on its tires?
We recommend storing your crawler on a rack or stand that supports it from the axles. Storing it on its tires causes “memory” in the tire. It can be worked out, but it leads to unevenness and even flat spots.
Ordering and shipping
Why didn't I receive an order confirmation or tracking email?
- These emails are automated and frequently get filtered to spam or junk folders. Check there first.
- Order forms are sometimes auto-filled by your browser with information that is out of date. Double-check what was entered on the order form.
- It happens to the best of us: the email address may have been typed incorrectly. We ask you to enter it twice at checkout, but it still happens on occasion. Contact us with your name and we will find the order.
How soon will my order ship?
- In-stock inserts ship the next business day. We ship Monday through Friday at 8:00am Mountain time, so an order placed at 6:00am on a Tuesday ships that Tuesday.
- Made-to-order sizes ship in 2 to 3 days.
- Orders often ship on Saturdays too, especially in the winter months when competition schedules are farther apart.
- If we are at an event that runs during the week, a notice on the website will explain the delay and when shipments resume.
Do you ship international orders?
- Yes! We ship around the world regularly, but the website is not set up to quote international shipping.
- International shipping is expensive and typically starts at $25 to $35 for Canada and $50 for overseas. We can usually ship 2 to 3 sets for the same cost as one.
- International orders go through the custom order form, with payment by invoice.
